The origin of this project has been a Partnership Building Activity called "Regional Youth Observatories" that took place in April 21-27, 2008 in Turgu Jiu, Romania, where the framework of this project was designed and launched. Eight people from 6 countries agreed on a common planning on networking activities with the purpose of raising awareness about intercultural diversity. The aim is to break stereotypes existing within our societies focusing on the younger generations.
We understand that a balanced sharing of experiences and knowledge from our cultures and realities will be helpful for us and other individuals to find different solutions to various conflicts arising cultural differences and misunderstandings. European values of tolerance and respect for human rights and equality are the key points of our networking activities. We also believe that is also important to motivate our youngsters as an ultimate objective of our networking process.

The Network also reflects national values in international context. The Network was initiated in 2008, which was announced by EC as a European Year of Intercultural Dialogue (annual priority of YiA for 2008).
