The aim of this project is to raise intercultural awareness between youth leaders and young people in participating countries so as to fight racism and xenophobia towards the inclusion of minorities, rural areas, and immigrants. The Networking Activity is specially concentrated on creation of a common platform of sharing and cooperation. We based our methodology on the active participation of all people involved in six basic steps
Participative and non-formal learning: the usage of the toolbox of non-formal education, while working in the project and creating new activities and solutions. The tools created by project partners will be shared through the web platform and this will finally lead to the development of a common toolbox of the Network. Education resources developed by SALTO Resource Centers and available on the slto-youth.net will be also used during the activities. If some more specific innovative tolls will be developed for the Network activities they will be also placed on SALTO platform to be shared with a wider public.
Consensus building activities: to create an agreement among the participants and foster mutual understanding in different levels. It is extremely important to provide the participation of all the project partners in all the activities of the Network and also to involve the direct beneficiaries from target groups in all of the project stages.
Parallel national activities and preparation of multipliers: The realization of national activities involving youth from disadvantaged backgrounds parallel in the countries involved in the Network with a following sharing and visualization of the results and outcomes will highly contribute to the level of motivation and experience sharing. The youth involved in Parallel National Activities will organize their own initiatives in their respective communities, for which they will receive full methodological (and wherever also logistical) support from the Network partner organizations. This way they can acquire very different key abilities, which should be useful for their future life (Methodical: e.g.: determination, organizational abilities, problem solving abilities, thinking in connections etc.; Social: e.g.: communicative abilities, cooperative abilities, empathy, tolerance etc.; Personal: e.g.: creativity, impetus, ability to cope with pressure, etc.).
The Web platform: will be created for the youth workers and youngsters and will be a platform empowering youngsters. This tool will be used for visualization of the results, promoting Youth in Action Programme, promoting the Network and finding new members. As the neighbouring regions involved in the project are quite far geographically and it is very hard to provide face-to-face contacts, it is very important to have a relatively chip and user friendly platform for communication, sharing of experience and development of joint initiatives.
Educational/promotional materials will be developed for the project. Leaflet “Intercultural Learning and Communication” – a basic educational material rising intercultural awareness (including a short intro on the Network and Youth in Action programme) Leaflet “Peace culture and international youth work” – a basic educational material on tolerance, peace culture, xenophobia d some hints for international youth work (including a short intro on the Network and Youth in Action programme)
Evaluation: ongoing, midterm and final assessment of the logistical and pedagogical aspects of all activities with a total involvement of all the participants during the whole process. Various types of evaluation methods will be used. Questionnaires alongside with dynamic evaluations will be used during the activities. Online meetings will be used to evaluate the course of the project in between the meetings, and the whole process will be evaluated by the participant countries during the Network meetings. During the project progress midterm meeting besides the project partners one participants per country will be also taking part from project beneficiaries, to contribute to the evaluation and course correction.
